Dear friends,
Have you ever wandered how we can improve our progress when working collectively towards the same goal?
Welcome back to a new creative episode, where we explore the necessary skills for successful collaborative music-making. These are, in fact skills that can be transferred to any area of our daily lives.
Team-work spirit, empathy, knowing how to lead and follow, time management, boundaries, negotiation, appreciation and feedback-offering, are some of those important skills that can be applied not just in music, but also in life.
My main motivation in sharing this topic comes from a deep desire to connect the professional attitude with our human side. Knowing how to merge these two sides together can enhance both our progress and kindness on a deeper level. Also, it can be an introductory material to those of you who are interested in knowing more about music-making from this perspective, and perhaps have not had a chance to know more about it so far. For a long time I have only seen the competitive and harsh side of the classical music industry, but not as much of the human and creative side of it. And I wonder whether having a different approach to this could actually bring more benefits on the long run.
Do you think genuine kindness and professionalism can go hand in hand? I am curious to know your thoughts on this.
