Legends and Nature Through the Language of Music

Updated: Jan 26, 2022

After spending a lot of time indoors, nature starts to take a more important role in our lives. Sun, air, water and ground recharge us in a more obvious way, now that we value our time spent outside even more than before.

This brings me to the story of some fairies from the Romanian mythology, known as 'Sânziene', who are celebrated on June 24th.

Long time ago, these fairies were, in fact, benevolent goddesses who used to gather together in a forest during the night between June 23rd and 24th to dance and sing with the intention to manifest a balanced climate, abundant crops, fertility for married women, protection for people and their lands, connection with nature, life, intuition and healing. They used music as a way of manifesting their intentions.

This event marks the Summer Solstice, and as a result villagers start harvesting healing herbs and picking flowers.

I believe summer is the perfect moment for each of us to connect with nature, people, animals, plants and everything that makes us feel alive.

Do you know any other similar legends you would like to share in the comments?

Speaking about legends, here is a link of one of my old recordings where I have played and shared the legend of the Skylark.

Have a beautiful and inspiring summer!

Love,

Adriana
