There are lots of things music has taught me. Sharing them is beneficial for me and for those of you who are interested in knowing those transferable skills that playing music can offer.
self-discipline (through building & following a daily practice routine)
time-management & efficiency (the skill of monitoring the allocated time for each task, and how to maximise efficiency in the most optimal way possible.
musical hearing (the ability to hear, transpose and play any melody I hear)
stable focus on long & short term (music keeps you focused while playing it)
goal-oriented mindset (the act of learning a piece from scratch up to the performance level, requires a set of necessary steps to be applied until manifesting the desired outcome)
the pleasure of sharing music with others (whether it is about sharing the music with audiences or with other colleagues with whom I play)
empathy (there are a lot of things to be considered when working with others. Putting a show together, or preparing a pupil for an event requires the skill of considering other people's needs in relation to yours)
